London. Barcelona thrashed Manchester United 3-1 to clinch their 4th UEFA Champions league title. The Catalan giants Messi-merised the red devils by superb passing and dominant possession game. Pedro, Messi and Villa scored for Barca, while Rooney scored the consolation goal for Man U. All through the game Manchester United were trifled by the speed and Skill of the Spanish club. In the 27th minute of the game Pedro opened Barca’s account with a superb goal of a pass from Xavi. But just 7 minutes later Rooney struck back to leave the score line 1-1. The score remained the same till half time.
In the second half Messi and co had a couple of failed chances until Messi scored in the 54th minute with a shot from 20 meters. In the 69th minute David Villa stretched the lead to 3-1 when he scored from a pass from non another then Messi.
Barcelona’s victory was twice as good for their coach Pep Guardila as he became the the first man to win the title both as a captain and a coach. Barcelona won their first Champions league title in 1992 under the captaincy of Guardilla.
