Brilliant Barca sinks Man U to win Champions League

London. Barcelona thrashed Manchester United 3-1 to clinch their 4th UEFA Champions league title. The Catalan giants Messi-merised the red devils by superb passing and dominant possession game. Pedro, Messi and Villa scored for Barca, while Rooney scored the consolation goal for Man U.

All through the game Manchester United were trifled by the speed and Skill of the Spanish club. In the 27th minute of the game Pedro opened Barca’s account with a superb goal of a pass from Xavi. But just 7 minutes later Rooney struck back to leave the score line 1-1. The score remained the same till half time.

In the second half Messi and co had a couple of failed chances until Messi scored in the 54th minute with a shot from 20 meters. In the 69th minute David Villa stretched the lead to 3-1 when he scored from a pass from non another then Messi.

Barcelona’s victory was twice as good for their coach Pep Guardila as he became the the first man to win the title both as a captain and a coach. Barcelona won their first Champions league title in 1992 under the captaincy of Guardilla.

Manchester United wins record 19th EPL title


Blackburn. Wayne Rooney’s goal sealed crowning glory for Manchester United for a record 19th time. The red devils clinched the English title in a 1-1 draw away to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday.
United needed just a point from this game to regain the Premier League title from Chelsea and they got it when England striker Rooney scored from the penalty spot 17 minutes from time after Rovers keeper Paul Robinson brought down Javier Hernandez.
Earlier United were jolted as they fell behind to a Brett Emerton goal after 20 minutes of play.
The result gave United, now in sole possession of a record they had shared with arch-rivals Liverpool an unassailable seven-point lead at the top of the English Premier League table, with closest pursuers Chelsea only able to win a maximum of six points from their two remaining matches. Manchester United could now concentrate on their May 28 battle with Barcelona when they try and win the UEFA Champions League.
